For some time I have been scanning my 4×5 negs with an Epson v850, adding a tad bit of sharpening with good results. But I have wondered whether I could get better quality with an Imacon scanner. Yesterday, I scanned some of my Iron Curtain border negatives using an Imacon and am now comparing the results. They are extremely close.

Both machines have gone out of production. The only alternative is to copy negatives using a high resolution camera like my Fujifilm GFX100S. My goal, at this point, is to scan everything of importance in my archive.
