It was discovered recently \u2014 hidden in plain sight \u2014 and confirmed by historians. You can just make out the Y-shaped brackets for stringing barbed wire to the left. \u2063 \u2063\u2063 \u2063<\/p>\n<p>The wall ruins are now fenced off to protect the historic landmark from damage, and moreover, the terrain is very rugged and full of holes hidden by the overgrowth. This was a stretch of the border that followed a canal connected to the Spree River.
